What is the ALICE test?
ALICE (Infectious Chronic Endometritis Analysis) is a test that detects bacteria that cause chronic endometritis.
Many IVF procedures result in implantation failure, even if good quality embryos are returned, and one of the reasons may be inflammation of the uterine lining.
What is the endometrium?
The endometrium is the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus and the place where the embryo implants and develops during pregnancy. Every month the endometrium prepares for the arrival of the embryo. When this does not happen, menstruation begins.
Why is the endometrium important?
Problems with the mucous membrane of the endometrium are one of the leading causes of infertility in women.
What is chronic endometritis?
Chronic endometritis is a permanent inflammation of the lining of the endometrium caused by an infection of the uterine cavity, mainly bacterial pathogens, which cannot be identified by conventional methods.
Is the ALICE a test for you?
This test is recommended:
- If you have had several failed medically assisted fertilization procedures
- If you have had repeated pregnancy losses
- If you are currently entering the process of medically assisted fertilization.
Why use the ALICE test?
ALICE provides accurate information, which leads to successful treatment of chronic endometritis, and thus leads to the possibility and increased chance of pregnancy.
