Assisted hatching

What is Assisted hatching?

Assisted hatching (AH) is one of the additional procedures that are routinely performed at the NewLife Clinic. It enables easier implantation of the embryo in the uterus and thus increases the chance of pregnancy. The process itself involves making a small crack in the outer shell of the embryo, and helps the embryo to come out of its "shell" and implant in the uterus.

Who is it recommended for?

Assisted heatching is recommended for patients:

  • over 37 years of age
  • to those who had previously had unsuccessful attempts at biomedically assisted fertilization.
  • Assisted heatching is a procedure that is not performed on all patients and does not have to be performed on every embryo. The patient, in agreement with the embryologist, chooses whether she wants to do this procedure before embryo transfer when it is necessary to increase the success of the pregnancy.
