FET

Cryoembryo transfer or FET is a procedure in which we thaw previously cryopreserved embryos and return them to the uterus in a natural or stimulated cycle.  

During the procedure of medically assisted fertilization (IVF / ICSI), a larger number of embryos is often obtained. In situations when due to certain reasons there are no optimal conditions for embryo transfer as well as in situations when after the embryo transfer we have more embryos of good quality, they are stored in our laboratory. This means that you will not have to go through another cycle of hormonal stimulation and egg collection.

Cryopreservation/freezing of the embryo gives you more opportunities for pregnancy without going through multiple hormonal stimulations and egg collection.

If pregnancy is not achieved after the first embryo transfer from the stimulated cycle, with frozen embryos, embryo transfer can be performed only by preparing the uterus for pregnancy. Also, if pregnancy occurs during the first embryo transfer, frozen embryos can be used for the next pregnancy.

In couples who need to postpone pregnancy for health or other reasons, and only postponing reduces their potential or prevents them from surviving as parents, after undergoing medically assisted fertilization, embryos are stored until the conditions for pregnancy are met.

All embryos will be stored at the New Life Polyclinic, where they will be stored frozen in a cryographic warehouse until you decide to use or discard them.

Embryos can be frozen from day 2 (four-cell stage) to day 5 (blastocyst). They are placed in thin plastic straws, sealed at both ends and marked with your name and identification number.

Then they go to the freezer, where the temperature drops rapidly to -150 ° C, a process called vitrification. The straws are then placed in beakers and placed in tanks filled with liquid nitrogen, which maintains the temperature at -196 ° C.
